The Gollum Song-Emiliana Torrini

Lyrics:

Where once was light
Now darkness falls
Where once was love
Love is no more
Don't say goodbye
Don't say I didn't try

These tears we cry
Are falling rain
For all the lies you told us
The hurt, the blame!
And we will weep to be so alone
We are lost
We can never go home

So in the end
I'll be what I will be
No loyal friend
Was ever there for me

Now we say goodbye
We say you didn't try

These tears you cry
Have come too late
Take back the lies
The hurt, the blame!

And you will weep
When you face the end alone
You are lost
You can never go home
You are lost
You can never go home

This has to be one of the saddest songs e v e r . Especially if you are like me and always have an enormous ammount compassion for the villians. So basically, in this song Gollum (Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers) is being his poor, schizophrenic self, and wallowing in self pity. But in the end of the song, "good Gollum" triumphs over "bad Gollum" (Too bad the movie can't end that way. ::[ ).

And of course we have that epic LOTR music as the intro and conclusion of the song, which is obviously a plus. ::)

Interestimg. Love the lyrics, not a huge fan of her voice. She sounds almost like a not-as-good Hayley Mills. :-/

Yeah, she definately doesn't have my favorite kind of voice. It fits the song pretty well though I think.

I definetially want to get the soundtrack...
And yes Kat...i do share your compassion for the villains i always thought it would be just a amzing way to end a movie/story if someone fell in love & some bad guy turned goood.....
To bad Gollum didn't...even though he was a bit creepy at the end...
And also this lady's voice is sorta weird but it does fit the song just as the song fits Gollum

I've always imagined Gollum singing it. Even though it's a girls voice, and no offence to her, but it does sound like it could be him. lol.
I know! That's why I love Boromir so much. He doesn't fall in love, but he redeems himself by trying to save Merry and Pippin at the end of FotR. That's the best kind of hero, in my opinion.
