If It's Love-Train

Lyrics:
While everybody else is getting out of bed
I'm usually getting in it
I'm not in it to win it
And there's a thousand ways you can skin it

My feet have been on the floor
Flat like an idle singer
Remember winger
I digress
I confess you are the best thing in my life

But I'm afraid when I hear stories
About a husband and wife
There's no happy endings
No Henry Lee
But you are the greatest thing about me

If it's love
And we decide that it's forever
No one else could do it better
If it's love
And we're two birds of a feather
Then the rest is just whenever
And if I'm addicted to loving you
And you're addicted to my love too
We can be them two birds of a feather
That flock together
Love, love
Got to have something to keep us together
Love, Love
That's enough for me

Took a loan on a house I own
Can't be a queen bee without a bee throne
I wanna buy ya everything
Except cologne
'cause it's poison
We can travel to Spain where the rain falls
Mainly on the plain side and sing
'cause it is we can laugh we can sing
Have ten kids and give them everything
Hold our cell phones up in the air
And just be glad we made it here alive
On a spinning ball in the middle of space
I love you from your toes to your face

If it's love
And we decide that it's forever
No one else could do it better
If it's love
And we're two birds of a feather
Then the rest is just whenever
And if I'm addicted to loving you
And you're addicted to my love too
We can be them two birds of a feather
That flock together
Love, love
Got to have something to keep us together
Love, Love
That's enough for me

You can move in
I won't ask where you've been
'cause everybody has a past
When we're older
We'll do it all over again

When everybody else is getting out of bed
I'm usually getting in it
I'm not in it to win it
I'm in it for you

If it's love
And we're two birds of a feather
Then the rest is just whenever
Then the rest is just whenever

If it's love
And we decide that it's forever
No one else could do it better
And if I'm addicted to loving you
And you're addicted to my love too
We can be them two birds of a feather
That flock together
Love, love
Got to have something to keep us together
Love, love
Got to have something to keep us together
Love, love
That's enough for me

Train, Train, Train. Always making me so happy. First was Drops of Jupiter, then Hey Soul Sister, now this! ::D Very good . . .

Good Direction-Billy Currington

I was feeling a little bit "country" today. Something besides Taylor Swift, usually the only country music I listen to. Since I listen to very little country music, I was drawing up blank. But then I remembered when my beautiful niece Maryjayne was born oh . . .2 1/2 years ago. We were listening to the baby's very favorite music and the only music that would calm her down. And this was the song that was on the radio. X)
~Kat

Lyrics:

I was sittin' there sellin' turnips on a flatbed truck
Crunchin' on a pork rind when she pulled up
She had to be thinkin' "This is where Rednecks come from"
She had Hollywood written on her license plate
She was lost and lookin' for the interstate
Needin' directions and I was the man for the job

I told her way up yonder past the caution light
There's a little country store with an old Coke sign
You gotta stop in and ask Miss Bell for some of her sweet tea
Then a left will take you to the interstate
But a right will bring you right back here to me

I was sittin' there thinkin' 'bout her pretty face
Kickin' myself for not catchin' her name
I threw my hat and thought, "You fool, that could've been love"
I knew my old Ford couldn't run her down
She probably didn't like me anyhow
So I watched her disappear in a cloud of dust.

I told her way up yonder past the caution light
There's a little country store with an old Coke sign
You gotta stop in and ask Miss Bell for some of her sweet tea
Then a left will take you to the interstate
But a right will bring you right back here to me

Is this Georgia heat playin' tricks on me
Or am I really seein' what I think I see
The woman of my dreams comin' back to me

She went way up yonder past the caution light
Don't know why, but somethin' felt right
When she stopped in and asked Miss Bell for some of her sweet tea
Mama gave her a big 'ol glass and sent her right back here to me

Thank God for good directions:and turnip greens

I Don't Need A Soul-Relient K

Lyrics

I listen to the sirens as they sing me back to sleep
I pray that no one's seriously hurt
It feels like everything is dying at the pivot point of me
I listen to the sirens tell me things could still be worse

Cause if you close your eyes and listen close
You can hear the chapter close
And its all rebound in better clothes
And you like the way this story goes
Cause the sun still burns the shadows out
And there's nothing to complain about now

Cause if this was our destiny I'd treasure the fact
And I'd give you whats left of me if I'd held back

But I don't need a soul
No I don't need a soul to hold
Without you I'm still whole
You and life remain beautiful

Departing from the hospital
Ill news shows on your face too well
You're trying not to cough at all it hurts
All options are exhausted all your numbered days are numbered small
I miss you now
I loved you
And I know things could still be worse

Cause if you close your eyes and listen close
You can hear the chapter close
And its all rebound in better clothes
And you like the way this story goes
Cause the sun still burns the shadows out
And there's nothing to complain about now

Cause if this was our destiny I'd treasure the fact
And I'd give you whats left of me if I'd held back

But I don't need a soul
No I don't need a soul to hold
Without you I'm still whole
You and life remain beautiful

I absolutley l o v e Relient K. This is currently my favorite of theirs. It's from tehir latest album Forget and Not Slow Down, which is proabably my favorite album of theirs (but I only have a few songs from each album, so I'm not quite sure). Anyways, a great song. So bittersweet.

Mockingbird-Rob Thomas

Lyrics:

Here we stand
Somewhere in between this moment and the end
Will we bend?
Or will we open up and take this whole thing in?
Everybody else is smiling
Man, their smiles dont fade
And you dont even wonder why
You just dont think that way

Maybe you and me got lost somewhere
We can't move on and we can't stay here
Maybe we've just had enough
Well, maybe we aint meant for this love
You and me tried everything
But still that mockingbird won't sing
Man this life seems hard enough
Well, maybe we aint meant for this love

Take my hand
And I will lead you through the broken promise land
Yes I can, oh yes I can
I can be there when you need it
I'll give it all 'till you can't feel it anymore
I don't wanna love you now
If you'll just leave someday
I don't wanna turn around
If you'll just walk away

Maybe you and me got lost somewhere
We can't move on and we can't stay here
Maybe we've just had enough
Well, maybe we aint meant for this love
You and me tried everything
But still that mockingbird won't sing
Man this life seems hard enough
Well, maybe we aint meant for this love

Maybe you and me got lost somewhere
We can't move on and we can't stay here
Maybe we've just had enough
Well, maybe we aint meant for this love
You and me tried everything
But still that mockingbird won't sing
Man this life seems hard enough
Well, maybe we aint meant for this love

Maybe we aint meant for this love
Maybe we aint meant for this love

The latest from Rob Thomas! I absolutely l o v e this song. I like most of his other music like "Her Diamonds" and "Little Wonders" but this one is definately his best so far. All I had to hear was the title to know I loved this song. Mockingbird! ::)

I love this broadway song and the instrumental is gorgeous. Katherine is playing this on the piano right now and I have played it in the past, so I thought I would share this.

Superman Tonight-Bon Jovi

I'm gonna start this off by saying I l o v e Bon Jovi! His voice is so amazing. He can rock it out ("It's My Life") or go country ("Who Says You Can't Go Home") Anyways....this new single is now one of my favorite songs by him. It doesn't quite compare to his anthem "Livin' on a Prayer" but it's still pretty moving. I mean, come on, who doesn't want a Superman? X)

My New Philosophy--Kristin Chenoweth and Stanley Wayne

Lyrics:

Sally:
(spoken)
Oh yeah? That's what YOU think!

Schroeder:
(spoken)
What?

Sally:
(spoken)
That's my new philosophy. "Oh yeah? That's what YOU think!"

Schroeder:
(spoken)
Then why are you telling me?

Sally:
(spoken)
What?

Schroeder:
(spoken)
WHY are you telling me?

Sally:
(spoken)
"WHY are you telling me?" I like it!
That's a good philosophy.
"WHY are you telling me?"
" WHY are you telling me?"
(sings)" Why are you telling me?"
My new philosophy
The teacher gave a D on last week's homework!
She said, "Miss Sally Brown,
Your grades are going down"
I could have told her...

Schroeder:
Your new philosophy?

Sally:
My new philosophy.
(spoken) Ms. B?
I'm she.
Look see
A D?
A D.
Well, why are you telling me?
(sung) And that's my new philosophy!

Schroeder:
That's your new philosophy?

Sally:
" Well why are you telling me?"
My new philosophy!

Schroeder:
(spoken)
That's great, Sally. But I've got to practice Chopin's Nocturne in B-flat Minor.

Sally:
(spoken)
No! I like it! "No!" That's my new philosophy.
" No! No! No!"

Schroeder:
(spoken)
That's your new philosophy?

Sally:
(spoken)
Yes! I mean "No!"
(singing) Just like a busy bee
Each new philosophy
Can fly from tree to tree
and keep me moving!
When life's a dizzy maze
On alterating days
I choose a different phrase!

Schroeder:
Your new philosophy?

Sally:
My new philosophy!

Schroeder:
Sally,
Some philosophies are simple:
"Man does not eat by bread alone."
Some philosophies are clear...

Sally:
" Leave your message at the sound of the tone."

Both:
Some philosophies pick and choose
Deciding what goes in it

Schroeder:
Some take a lifetime!

Sally:
Mine take a minute!

Schroeder:
(spoken)
But Sally, anything that takes only a minute can't be very long lasting. For instance, Beethoven took over two years
to complete his brilliant Ninth Symphony...

Sally:
(spoken)
" No!"

Schroeder:
(spoken)
I can't stand it!

Sally:
(spoken)
" I can't stand it!" I like it!
(sings) It's like a gurantee
Each new philosophy
And things are sure to be a whole lot brighter!
" Oh yeah? That's what you think!"
" Why are you telling me?"
" No!"
" I can't stand it!"
Now life is free and easy,
Much more philosophy-zy,
With my brand new...

(spoken)You know, someone had said that we should live every day as
if it were the last day of our life.

Lucy:
(spoken)
This is it? Help me! Help me! I've got twenty four hours to live! AAAAAAAAAA!!!

Sally:
(spoken)
Clearly, some philosophies aren't for all people...
(sung) And that's my new philosophy

I have found myself falling in love with this silly song. It's from the Broadway Musical "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown." I mean, come on? Who doesn't love the Peanuts? ::D

Down side? This song will be stuck in your head a l l day and you'll be running around singing "Why are you telling me? My newww philosophy!" X)

I'm a real sucker for musical numbers. There so catchy. They just stick there in your head. Then you have to attempt dancing. And if you're me, you fail miserably. Even High School Musical and those silly disney things! Very intriguing for me . . .

And that's my new philosophy! Yeah!

Silhouettes--Swimming with Dolphins

Lyrics
I know you won't admit this
I am just a silhouette to you
You found comfort with my distance
But you never let me stray out of your view

Who really needs the past
With the allure of something new
So we split apart at last
Went back to places that I knew
Before you

And you never have to see
The light that wraps itself around me
And I never have to know
The faces there
The places you go
(That you go 4x)

When I count by the resistance
I bend in shapes in ways I never knew
So I'll try to post from my existence
Yeah I'll stop or start my heart if you ask me to
I'll stop my heart and then I'll wait for you

I was sure I never would be sure we were in love
(Although it's dark and black)
I am sure I never would be sure of love to come
(There is one thing left to hold on to)
After you

And you never have to see
The light that wraps itself around me
And I never have to know
The faces there
The places you go
(That you go 4x)

Recognize that lovely voice? It's Breanne Duren. You probably know her because she sings back up vocals for Owl City. I l o v e her in the Saltwater Room, but I have to say, she sounds even better in this song (even if the guy that sings with her doesn't sound as amazing as Adam Young).

I abosolutely ADORE this song, especially the first verse. "Who really needs the past with the allure of something new?" *sniff*

The only thing I have to complain about it is that the weird music at the end kinda gives me a headache . . .

One Day I'll Find You (Boys&Bugs) - Poema [lyrics in description]

Poema--sisters Elle and Shaeleen--is a new band Christian band singed to Tooth and Nail. Their unreleased song, Bugs and Boys is just so darling. It's a young, fun song about what my perfect guy is.

You Raise Me Up-Celtic Woman

Lyrics:
When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,
Until you come and sit awhile with me.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.

There is no life - no life without its hunger;
Each restless heart beats so imperfectly;
But when you come and I am filled with wonder,
Sometimes, I think I glimpse eternity.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.

I'm a big fan of the Josh Groban version of this song just because, ya know, Josh Groban is amazing, but Celtic Woman does this song really, really well. Out of all the songs I've heard them sing so far, this is definately my favorite. The violin at the begining definately doesn't hurt either.

With Arms Wide Open--Creed

Lyrics:
Well I just heard the news today
It seems my life is going to change
I closed my eyes, begin to pray
Then tears of joy stream down my face

With arms wide open
Under the sunlight
Welcome to this place
I'll show you everything
With arms wide open
With arms wide open

Well I don't know if I'm ready
To be the man I have to be
I'll take a breath, I'll take her by my side
We stand in awe, we've created life

With arms wide open
Under the sunlight
Welcome to this place
I'll show you everything
With arms wide open
Now everything has changed
I'll show you love
I'll show you everything
With arms wide open
With arms wide open
I'll show you everything ...oh yeah
With arms wide open..wide open

If I had just one wish
Only one demand
I hope he's not like me
I hope he understands
That he can take this life
And hold it by the hand
And he can greet the world
With arms wide open...

With arms wide open
Under the sunlight
Welcome to this place
I'll show you everything
With arms wide open
Now everything has changed
I'll show you love
I'll show you everything
With arms wide open
With arms wide open
I'll show you everything..oh yeah
With arms wide open....wide open

Hey, this is Lenore. I'll be stopping by every once and awhile with a song and a little insight, haha :)
I recently rediscovered this song. It has always struck me as beautiful. Not many songs on the secular radio stations have a pro-life message, but this is an amazing exception. It talks of the awe a man feels once he realizes he is to be a father. Such an uplifting song about embracing life "with arms wide open"!

The Gollum Song-Emiliana Torrini

Lyrics:

Where once was light
Now darkness falls
Where once was love
Love is no more
Don't say goodbye
Don't say I didn't try

These tears we cry
Are falling rain
For all the lies you told us
The hurt, the blame!
And we will weep to be so alone
We are lost
We can never go home

So in the end
I'll be what I will be
No loyal friend
Was ever there for me

Now we say goodbye
We say you didn't try

These tears you cry
Have come too late
Take back the lies
The hurt, the blame!

And you will weep
When you face the end alone
You are lost
You can never go home
You are lost
You can never go home

This has to be one of the saddest songs e v e r . Especially if you are like me and always have an enormous ammount compassion for the villians. So basically, in this song Gollum (Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers) is being his poor, schizophrenic self, and wallowing in self pity. But in the end of the song, "good Gollum" triumphs over "bad Gollum" (Too bad the movie can't end that way. ::[ ).

And of course we have that epic LOTR music as the intro and conclusion of the song, which is obviously a plus. ::)

Sing Over Your Children by Matt Maher

I think since it is Sunday I think this song is appropriate. It is especially appropriate for me, I am getting Confirmed later today. I feel like I am being called by God to do great things in my life. I just moved to a staunchly Protestant/ Mormon area. When I lived in Iowa I didn't really feel like there was any opportunity to convert. Here I feel like I might actually be able to bring some souls to God. In Confirmation I will be filled with The Holy Spirit.

This song is the call I feel.

I flirt with the world
It steals my love for You
My fear grips my faith
And I am left unmoved

Your gaze stops my heart
Your voice fills the dark
Your love is the spark that lights this life
So we rise

Out of the depths you cry
Come and be satisfied
Father, You sing
Father, You sing over Your children

You quiet the storm
Inside my shipwrecked soul
Your spirit will lead
It calls the wayward home

At the sound of Your name
Our sin is washed away
In Christ we're crucified
In You we die, in You we rise

Out of the depths you cry
Come and be satisfied
Father, You sing
Father, You sing over Your children

Let us see through Your eyes
We are Your great delight
Father You sing
Father, You sing over Your children

And we're singing along
Your daughters and sons
We're singing Your song
We are Your children

Out of the depths you cry
Come and be satisfied
Father, You sing
Father, You sing over Your children

Let us see through Your eyes
We are Your great delight
Father, You sing
Father, You sing over Your children

The Poison-All American Rejects

Lyrics

You were so young
And I guess Im old
Open your eyes
I keep mine closed

I prefer standing
And you take your seat
I'll be wide awake
You'll be asleep

And you fall down a hole
That's the one place we both know

You take me with you if you could
But I wouldn't go
I guess that sometimes we both lose our minds
Find a better road

I can be pensive
You can be so sure
You'll be the poison
You'll be the cure

I'm alone on the journey
I'm alive none-the-less
And when you do your very worst
Mmm...It feels the best

And you'll fall down a hole
That's the one place we both know

You take me with you if you could
But I wouldn't go
I guess that sometimes we both lose our minds
Find a better road

Mmmmm...
Mmmmm...
Mmmmm...
Mmmmm...

And you fall down
That's the one place in this world that we both know

You take me with you if you could
If you could Id lose everything

(LaLaLaLaLaaaa...)
Can't you see the faces melting
As the sun race from their eyes
(eyes...)

Who are you to keep your head
With the hearts that you hang behind

Look at yourself
Look in my mirror
Dont you see a lie

That you tell yourself again a thousand times
(tell yourself again a thousand times)
And the truth that makes us laugh
Will make you cry

You wanna die? No?

...Til you fall down a hole
That's the one place we both know

You'd take me with you if you could
But I wouldn't go

Because sometimes...
We both lose our minds...
Find the better road...

This song is featured on the "Almost Alice" soundtrack, along with a bunch of my other new favorite songs (great soundtrack peoples!). It's really a great song. It starts as a mellow ballad and builds to a intense crescendo during the bridge of the song. The lyrics are pretty awesome too. ::) There are a few Alice in Wonderlan-y lines in there such as: "Who are you to keep your head with the hearts that you hang behind?"

Enjoy!

Oh! This is a blog!

Well hello there. I'm Katherine. I see that you are all excited for the music blog. Either that or you have no idea what this music blog is. I'll assume the later.

Basically what this blog is is a place to go to find music. We'll post a new song (hopefully) everyday-ish. So like if you're tired of listening to the same music you've been listening to for awhile, you can pop in and check out what we have floating around. What we'll probably do is post a video link, the lyrics, and just whatever random things we feel like sharing.

So I hope you will enjoy . . . once I get this up and running of courssssse . . .
