I remember the very first time I heard this song. I was thinking "This is a song that I will eventually love." lol. I love it. Even if it's nearly impossible for me to sing (darn vocal range . . .)
So at any rate, this song makes me Smile. ::) I hope it will have the same affect on you!
I love this song. It's right up there with "Beauty From Pain." I find that Superchick is at it's best when they sing sad, slow ballads. It's where they excell. You can feel the emotion in lead singer, Tricia's voice. B e a u t i f u l :)
When I woke up I was 17 You kissed my lips in a bad bad dream Showed me things aren't what they appear to be Called me angel and set me free You gave me life in the cold cold dark But you ran away in the mornings spark Made me think that reality Is not where I want to be
I am what I am and I am what I am afraid of Oh what am I afraid of I need a fearless love Don't need to fear the end If you can't hold me now You will never hold me again I want to live my life Pursuing all my happiness I want a fearless love I won't settle for anything less
I've walked my path had worlds collide I lost my way and I fooled my pride This lover's ache wouldn't feel so strange If I could only change
But I am what I am and I am what I am afraid of So what am I afraid of I need a fearless love Don't need to fear the end If you can't hold me now You will never hold me again I want to live my life Pursuing all my happiness I want a fearless love I won't settle for anything less
Now I'm not here to lay the blame I understand when you hold a flame Heads will shake heads will turn And sometimes you just get burned
I don't really like this song. But it makes me laugh alot. You see, we were in the car and my sister Lenore says "This is that Fearless Love song!' and my other sister camille says 'What? I don't know what that means!" Lenore says "Well Camille, it means that she wants someone who will show that they love her. Someone that won't be afraid!" "No!" says Camille "I mean, I don't know what song this is!" And since we were all exhausted, it was extremely hilarious. Now every time I hear it, I ROFL. The end.
LYRICS So there we were, back home, from somewhere inside my head. Well bravely I fought off monsters beneath her bed. Pillars of post-war books supported my frame of mind, while she memorized the pages that I tried to not hide behind. She took my hand in hers and whispered her love for me, the lantern died that night but we didnt need to see, implying that shes the bees knees and I am the cats meow. Its funny how she recalls when I cant remember now.
But when her smile came back and I didnt feel half as horrible, she gave me a heart attack, just because she looked so adorable. We both put our sunblock on, laid on the beach and vowed that wed live and wed learn. Yeah, But she got a tan and I got a sunburn
I got a sunburn
So there we were out there, unaware of where wed been, we kicked off our flip-flops and swung from the rooftops again. Its awkward but ill confess shes all I can think about. And its funny how I recall when she cant remember now.
But when her smile came back and I didnt feel half as horrible, she gave me a heart attack, just because she looked so adorable. We both put our sunblock on, laid on the beach and vowed that wed live and wed learn. Yeah, But she got a tan and I got a sunburn
Oh afterglow, look out below! Wed left a trail of dust behind. As we parted ways, she held my gaze, and left and imprint on my mind. I tried not to cry as we said goodbye, and hung the clouds above my town. But I shed a tear when she disappeared, cause now Im a stranger on the ground.
(But when her smile came back and I didnt feel half as horrible, she gave me a heart attack) We both put our sunblock on, laid on the beach and vowed that wed live and wed learn. But she got a tan and I got a sunburn.
She got a tan and I got a sunburn.
Yeah, but she got a tan and I got a sunburn
If you know me, you've probabaly heard this song before. It is indeed the cutest song out there. ^.^
I thought it would be appropriate for this time of year. And yesterday, I'm proud to say, I have started my summer "tan." In other words, I got burnt. ::P Eventually it may fade to golden brown-ish, but for now I am "el tomato" (ok, it isn't t h a t red.) As I was sitting at the pool, I realized that almost e v e r y o n e except me and the people I was with were really, really tan! So are WE the only white-to-bright red people out there?!?! Is there something special they do to turn themselves that color?!?! Cuz even when the sunburn fades, I still have alittle pink in my "tan"! So what's up with that??
